10th International Sealing Congress
Organised in October 94 to continue the series of sealing conferences held in Dresden in past years.
1st European Conference on Controlling Fugitive Emissions from Valves, Pumps and Flanges
In view of the focus of attention by end user customers on reducing the emissions from their plants, we initiated the organisation of this Conference, which was held in Antwerp during October 95. This proved to be very successful, attracting 234 delegates, of which 112 were end users or OEMs
There was excellent international participation :

International Seal Forum
Organised in conjunction with Achema 97 in Frankfurt (June 97). The key aims of this Forum were to allow visitors to the Achema exhibition to have access to technical experts from the sealing industry world-wide, and to discuss the latest developments in sealing technology.
2nd European Conference on Fugitive Emissions - Controlling Leaks from Valves, Pumps and Flanges
Held in Düsseldorf on September 8 and 9 1998, it was again well supported with 212 international participants, over 40% of whom were users and OEM's.
Focus of the event was to allow the exchange of information on:

Information presented at the Conference reinforced the earlier reports that the major fugitive emission source in the chemical industry sector was invariably leaking valves. Despite some variations, dependent upon the manufacturing facility involved, leakage from valves presents the greatest challenge in reducing fugitive emissions. |
The event was organised on behalf of the ESA by the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI). Copies of the proceedings are available in English as VDI-Berichte 1441 (ISBN 3-18-091441-6), or in German as VDI-Berichte 1440 (ISBN 3-18-091440-8) from the VDI Verlag, Postfach 10 10 54, D- 4001 Düsseldorf , Deutschland.
