A new discussion forum, established during 1998, focused on the automotive industry sector. Initially at least, the Automotive Forum is concentrating on the requirements of the OEM customers, such as the large, international car manufacturers. Eventually, it is accepted that this Forum will include the aftermarket in its remit.
Therefore unlike the Divisions or Working Groups of the ESA, this Forum is customer-focussed rather than technology-focussed.

- regulations / potential for influence
- early warning system
- relation to customer
- warranty / product liability
- customer / supplier collaboration
