In line with the “Strategic Rather than Tactical” guidelines highlighted during the ESA AGM in Ljubljana, SPETECH® has officially launched its Young Engineers Initiative (YEI) Team – a programme designed to open career opportunities for young talent and bring fresh energy into the world of gaskets and packings.

The YEI Team was established just before the summer break, with several ambitious R&D projects already assigned to its members. The team consists of four young engineers – Mateusz, Maria, Mateusz, and Wojciech – who represent diverse areas of SPETECH® operations, including Research, Laboratory, Testing, and Engineering.

Their mission? To take on two ambitious projects:

  1. Comparative leakage tests of various gaskets using methane, helium, and hydrogen as testing media.
  2. Characterisation of RTJ oval and RTJ octagonal gaskets according to EN 13 55 testing procedures.

These are complex and time-consuming tasks, but SPETECH® is confident their young team will deliver results till the end of 2025. The findings are set to be shared in early 2026 – with a special presentation planned for the next ESA AGM.

What makes this initiative exciting is not only the technical work, but also the opportunity it gives the next generation to step onto the ESA stage. Members of the YEI Team will soon be joining ESA meetings, adding their voices and ideas to the broader conversation shaping our industry’s future.
