The new-look ESA website will be available shortly on the new WordPress platform. This will enable greater design flexibility and search optimisation. We have always struggled with the Content Management System of the current web site which is bespoke to the ESA.
With the introduction of more interactive areas of the website such as the Careers area, Newsletters and Members Area this has led to some frustrations as bespoke design work generates delays in modernisation. We will have much more freedom in terms of design and functionality but more critical is the opportunity to move away from a bespoke product.
This will run hand in hand with the new ESA Sharepoint platform. Here we will publish documents for all members and there will be the opportunity to edit documents online for all. It also provides the opportunity to centralise critical documents for ESA rather than them being held privately. Both of these developments will be presented at the AGM later this month.
