During our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Seville, Grzegorz Rusa and Mateusz Romański from SPETECH proposed an excellent idea to further develop the Young Engineers Initiative (YEI) first discussed at the ESA Strategy Workshop in 2025. Initially this would be within the ESA community.
From these discussions, the idea emerged to organise the first dedicated YEI event, with the objective of encouraging ESA members to actively involve, support and promote the next generation of engineers within our industry.
The YEI Autumn Event is intended to provide a platform where young engineers can present their work, projects, research and technical topics they are currently working on. It will also offer valuable networking opportunities and encourage knowledge sharing and exchange among young professionals from ESA member companies.
SPETECH has kindly offered to host the event in Katowice, Poland, on 21–22 October 2026.

We strongly encourage all participants to actively contribute by presenting their work, projects or technical topics of interest to their fellow young engineers.
We look forward to making this inaugural Young Engineers Initiative event a valuable, inspiring and enjoyable experience for everyone involved, while laying the foundation for future YEI activities within ESA.
