Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) Update

The Industrial Emissions Directive or IED is the main EU instrument regulating pollutant emissions from industrial installations. The IED was adopted on 24 November 2010. There is one of the periodic reviews of the IED with a meeting to take place in Brussels in December 2019.

ESA has responded to the ‘Stakeholder Survey’ on the effectiveness of the IED which was held earlier in the year. We are very hopeful that our Fugitive Emissions Reduction Document (FERD) will be considered as a BAT for the IED.
